Halfords Racing with Cataclean return to Thruxton in buoyant mood
It is a fairly well-known fact that Team Dynamics typically go well at Thruxton, they have had some ups and downs over the years, but every year since 2010 at least one , if not both, of their drivers have been on the podium at each one of the race weekends, certainly an awesome achievement for any team.
After a long winter break, testing resumed in earnest in April and the TD cars topped the times on both the official test days with three-time BTCC Champion Gordon Shedden quickly finding his feet and being on the pace. Newcomer Daniel Rowbottom also did well on the timesheets and consistently put in solid laps.
This weekend looks like it will be a wet one for the first round of the year, which negates some of the advantage that the front wheel drive cars have around Truxton’s high speed ‘bowl’, buy they’ll still be giving it there all to try and come out on top at the end of the weekend.
James Rodgers – Team Manager at Team Dynamics commented “It looks like it’s going to be a wet one, which is never pleasant at any circuit, but particularly not Thruxton. We come of our testing campaign in high spirits and look to carry that on into the first race of the season.
Daniel Rowbottom – Driver for TD added “This really is an awesome circuit, but out the back you have to hang on tight and need nerves of steel, it’s incredibly fast and when you are door handle to door handle with other cars it can get a bit physical! I can’t wait to get out there now.”
Gordon Shedden – Driver for TD concluded with “It’s been a bit of a steep learning curve for me after being away so long, but the team have helped me settle back in quickly and that has shown in our times during testing. I like Thruxton it is a proper drivers circuit that is mega quick, and you really leave nothing on the table, its fast and aggressive which makes for do or die overtaking manoeuvres and ultimately great TV!”
